Supporters gathered to formalize the campaign to build the Pavilion at Blaine Community Center, an open air addition to the existing building at 8th and G Streets. The lead gift for the Pavilion, estimated to cost $275,000, came from the Rotary Club of Whatcom County North, thanks to a contribution from long time Club member Mel Hollinger. Mr. Hollinger and realtor Mike Kent, both well known leaders in the Blaine community, are serving as the co-chairs of the capital campaign. The campaign is also supported by a larger group representing the Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County, Blaine Senior Center and the Whatcom Community Foundation which is serving as the fiscal sponsor for the project.
